    • So far, all attempts to prepare suitable crystals of the corresponding arylcyanocuprate of 2 for an X-ray structure determination had failed. For this reason, we decided to replace the methyl groups in the ortho-diamine chelating substituent of the aryl ligand in 2 by ethyl groups which enhance the Lewis basicity of the N-donor sites leading to a stronger N-Li coordination.
