    • Because the element spacing for these arrays is comparable to the element size, mixed linear/radial diffusion would be expected even at times shorter than needed for overlap of neighboring diffusion layers. At extremely short times, when the diffusion layer thickness is very small compared with the element size, linear diffusion is expected.
