Computer modeling (molecular mechanics and molecular dynamics simulations) has been carried out by us to probe the nature of the interaction between a short (10,10)-SWNT and a PmPV of eight repeating units. These calculations support a model in which the polymer is wrapped helically around the nanotubes with the phenylene rings in the polymer backbone stacked in a "face-to-face" manner against the walls of the nanotube.
