Bielawaski et al. used an imposed (Formula presented) sequence in order to control unstable orbits of laser dynamics. Such a control scheme has the same (Formula presented) stability boundaries as our control algorithm with the exception that for (Formula presented) their imposed (Formula presented) control sequence is stable, rather than semi-stable as with our restricted control. The advantage of the approach proposed here is that the control sequence information can be used to automatically adapt the gain parameter
