    • In the monomer-addition experiment, it was crucial to use 0.95 equiv of 6 in the first-stage polymerization. An excess amount of 6 did not react with the polymer end group during polymerization but did after the consumption of monomer to give the amide end group, which could not initiate the polymerization in the second-stage.
