    • 2+; however, because of the unsymmetrical nature of the dpp ligand, the NMR spectrum of the resultant mixture of geometric isomers was not able to be interpreted. Furthermore, a satisfactory microanalysis could not be obtained. On the basis of the synthetic technique and the electrochemistry data obtained, it was felt that its identity was sufficiently established to include its protonation behavior in the present series of complexes.
