    • ∥ values range from -396 to 297 MHz for Mn(III) and +235 to +204 MHz for Mn(IV); however, because of the antiferromagnetic exchange coupling between the Mn(III) and Mn(IV) in the dimer, the observed hyperfine values differ from the intrinsic values by factors of +2 and -1 (referred to as projection factors) for the Mn(III) and Mn(IV) ions, respectively.
