X-ray fiber patterns of oriented films cast from solutions at temperatures below 15°C often contain an additional meridional reflection at ∼6.1 Å pointing to the existence an extra ordered phase with another conformation of the macromolecules. This question is under study, and corresponding results will be published separately.
