Sci. USA (1996) 93:6025-6030. This paper introduced for the first time the technique of suppression subtractive hybridisation. This technique was successfully used to identify genes that are specifically expressed in a particular tissue. Since this technique is based upon the suppression PCR and subtraction, it is sensitive to identify genes with low and moderate levels of differential expression.

J. Cereb. Blood Flow Metab. (1998) 18:1173-1177. This paper provided an example for the use of suppression subtractive hybridisation to identify disease-related genes. Dot blot analysis (of differential hybridisation) was applied to facilitate the evaluation of differentially expressed genes after the suppression subtractive hybridisation procedure.
