With a mean follow-up of 1163 days, corrected visual acuity improved from 0.004 to 0.02, and 22 eyes (51%) had corneal epithelialization. As complications, persistent epithelial defects were noted in 60.5% of cases, ocular hypertension in 37.2%, and endothelial rejection for central grafts in 46.4%.

Fifteen eyes had successful ocular surface reconstruction.
