28. Benzonase is an extracellular dsDNA-, ssDNA-, and RNA-cleaving endonuclease from Serratia marcescens. The commercially available recombinant protein is free of detectable protease activities, has high enzymatic activity and stability under widely variable reaction conditions, and tolerates even the presence of EDTA and SDS.
