    • The cyclodextrin cavity normally causes small but distinct shifts of the signals corresponding to the guest protons that are actually included due to weak shielding by the alicyclic cyclodextrin skeleton. Though small, these CISs are usually large enough for performing NMR titrations in an accurate manner.
