note
-
Because of the high sensitivity of the ESR spectroscopy, the samples were prepared by bubbling NO into an acetonitrile solution of the appropriate alcohol for only a short lapse of time. In these conditions, a small amount of the nitrite is formed, which is enough to allow the detection of the related radical species.
