The nitroxides, only detectable in the experiments with secondary and primary alkyl alcohols, seem to derive from the photo-induced interaction between an aldehidic group and a nitroso group: actually, among the primary photo-products of these alcohols there are aldehydes and nitroso alkanes. These radicals species are detectable at very low flow rate.
