    • 2 grains instantaneously expanded and cracked under the focused electron beam, causing the carbon coat to spall off at the area of irradiation. The samples were thinned for TEM by ion milling with a liquid-nitrogen sample stage to reduce sample temperature and prevent thermal decomposition. TEM data were collected with a slow-scan charge-coupled device camera and a very low electron dose. Tilting of the crystal was done in SAED mode with a camera length of 300 mm so that many reflections could be seen even under very low dose conditions.
