    • The behavior of the mobility with E depends on the details of the disorder at the QW interfaces and is therefore expected to be different from one sample to the next. Furthermore, one would expect, as we observed; a lower mobility when the QW is asymmetric because the carrier wave function is pushed toward one of the interfaces, which are invariably somewhat disordered.

    • The zero-B spin splitting is caused by spin-orbit interaction involving the carrier's momentum and the electrical potential that it is traveling through. In contrast, the nonzero-B spin splitting (Zeeman splitting) is caused by an applied external magnetic field.
