    • Peter Haase is a plant ecologist with additional qualifications in geology and computing. During 7 years of botanical studies and research in New Zealand, mostly based at or supported by the University of Canterbury, he developed a particular interest in the ecology and biogeography of the genus Nothofagus. As a member of the University of Leeds research group, he investigated aspects of the ecophysiology and demography of semi-arid grasslands and shrublands in south-eastern Spain, which included the analysis of spatial patterns. Still anticipating a 'real job', Peter Haase presently works as a contract lecturer in computer languages.
