    • Under this circumstance, it could be questioned whether a real change in the direction of energy transfer occurs, in that the electronic energy is in any case initially directed to the same, lowest-lying subunit. However, in case the luminescence output origins from the other subunit as a consequence of the thermally activated process, a reverse energy migration takes place within the excited state lifetime.
