    • Caride (ref.34) describes an interesting distinction between 'tissues of extravasation' and 'tissues of restriction', based primarily on the anatomy of a major obstacle to the movement of liposomes into the extravascular space, the capillary wall. 'Tissues of restriction' have continuous capillaries, tightly sealed by junctions between endothelial cells, and a continuous basement membrane. On the other hand he defines 'tissues of extravasation' as having sinusoidal capillaries with larger fenestrations and absent or incomplete basement membrane.
