    • Some polydispersity of the PVP block is unavoidable due to the Poisson statistics governing its anionic polymerization even under ideal conditions. Such polydispersity produces a large distribution in the "hopping" diffusion coefficient (refs 16 and 17).

    • Note: the diffusion coefficients were shifted to 125 °C for our polystyrenes. Shifting to same free volume and same temperature are equivalent for polystyrenes with sufficiently high molecular weight.

    • note
    • The radius of PVP core seems to decrease from 11.5 to 9.5 nm as up to 50% low molecular weight homopolymer is added to the mixture. It could be that, as the homopolymer penetrates into the corona of the spherical micelles, the domain responds to the stretching of the corona chains by reducing its aggregation number.
