16. In the actual growth, a ZnS(20 nm)/ZnSe(10 nm)/ZnS(420 nm) heterostructure was grown on an unmasked GaAs surface. Since the pyramidal structures with the height of ∼300 nm shown in Fig. 2 are completed during the simultaneous growth of the initial 420 nm thick ZnS layer, no ZnSe is grown in the pyramids.
