18. In order to compare the catalytic activities, particularly at the initiation step, the reactions in Table 2 were examined under controlled reaction conditions (at 40°C, for 24 h). For elongated reaction times, the catalytic systems afforded almost quantitative yields of polymers except for entry 4, which showed no catalytic activity.
