Kawai and some of the present authors applied for a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Culture, Japan, in autumn, 1993, in the field of Materials Science and Engineering, and after subsequent three years the same form was submitted, the title of which was the "X-Ray Fluorescence Holography". Finally, at the fourth application, the grant was given in 1997 when applied to the field of Applied Analytical Chemistry. Note here that even the second application rejected by the Materials Science and Engineering Jury was earlier than the first experimental report of Tegze and Feigel (1996).
