B receptors in human brain: phaclofen- and CGP52432-sensitive, CGP35348-insensitive autoreceptors and phaclofen and CGP52432-insensitive, CGP35348-sensitive heteroreceptors. The data confirm previous findings of the same laboratory obtained with rat receptors. These reports clearly argue for receptor subtypes, as the rank order of antagonist efficacy at auto- and heteroreceptors is different; however, the claim of presynaptic receptor subtypes has been challenged by Waldmeier et al. [17].
