The ratio of oxidized lead to lead bound to sulfur is ∼0.19. If we assume that all lead atoms of the Pb-O reside on the surface and all Pb-S in the bulk, we obtain a particle 40 Å in diameter, in agreement with UV-vis absorption and TEM measurements.
