    • The size-dependent Stokes shift indicates that the structure is not attributed to the zero-phonon line luminescence and "dark exciton" structure because the singlet-triplet splitting in bulk CdS is 0.2 meV [see, for example, I. Broser and M. Rosenzweig, Phys. Rev., B22, 1980, 2000]. Under our experimental conditions, the zerophonon line luminescence and dark exciton structure are probably obscured by the scattering of the excitation laser light.
