    • The reaction probability of HCl and HBr on the ice surface is nearly equal (cf.: Rieley, H.; Aslin, H. D. J. Chem. Soc., Faraday Trans. 1995, 91, 2349). After taking this fact, our experimental data, and the similar chemical nature of HBr and HI into consideration, we thus assume γ of HI is close to that of HCl or HBr.
