    • A* + B* ≠ 1, only if there is termination or side reactions. In this polymerization, the contribution of termination is considered to be negligible as the maximum degree of termination is governed by the concentration of the catalyst. Since the catalyst is 1% relative to monomer, A* + B* ≥ 0.99, if irreversible termination occurred. However, if there was complete termination the polymerization would come to a halt, which was not observed.
