    • One reviewer questioned our choice of membranes where neutralization was done in the melt, and not the use of solution-cast films. Our choice was based on two main arguments. First, we wanted to compare data from this study with previous studies on the same membranes. Second, work done on PFI systems has suggested that the morphology of the films is sensitive to the temperature during solvent evaporation (see, for example: Figure 14 in ref 5. Gebel, G.; Aldebert, P.; Pineri, M. Macromolecules 1987, 20, 1425).
