This is the first clear-cut demonstration that, at similar levels of blood pressure control, ACE inhibitors slow the rate of GFR decline and limit progression to ESRF in chronic non-diabetic renal disease more effectively than do conventional antihypertensives because of their specific anti-proteinuric effect.
