This evaluation of risk factors for neonatal sepsis in 823 high-risk pregnant women indicated a 26% rate of GBS carriage and a culture-proven neonatal sepsis rate of 1.8%. Multivariate analysis suggests increased risk of ascending peripartal infection with prolonged duration of internal monitoring.
