This provocative article supports a significant dose-rate effect, even within conventional low-dose rate ranges, in terms of late morbidities. Although direct extrapolation to HDR techniques is not possible, this information does raise questions regarding the adequacy of the information on which doses are varied with changes in dose rate.

The authors suggest that salvage RT following chemotherapy failure is equally effective in platinum-sensitive and platinum-refractory patients.
