Serum IgG autoantibodies directed against the α chain of FcεRI: A selective marker and pathogenetic factor for a distinct subset of chronic urticaria patients?
-
Fiebiger E, Maurer D, Holub H, Reininger B, Hartmann G, Woisatschläger M, Kinet J-P, Stingl G: Serum IgG autoantibodies directed against the α chain of FcεRI: a selective marker and pathogenetic factor for a distinct subset of chronic urticaria patients? J Clin Invest 1995, 96:2606-2612. In this study, the occurrence of IgE-independent IgG autoreactivity directed against racombinant and cell-surface-expressed FcεRIα was demonstrated in various biochemical detection systems. In contrast to anti-IgE autoAbs, anti-FcεRIα autoAbs ware observed selectively in sera from CU patients but from neither atopic patients nor healthy control individuals.

-
Daeron M, Malbec O, Latour S, Arock M, Fridman WH: Regulation of high-affinity IgE receptor-mediated mast cell activation by murine low-affinity IgG receptors. J Clin Invest 1995, 95:577-585. Cross-linking of FcεRI on the surface of MCs and basophils leads to the release of inflammatory mediators. In vitro, this phenomenon can be inhibited by cross-linking FcεRI to the tyrosine-based inhibitory motif-containing Isoform of FcγyRII (FcγyRIIB).
