19. 10 inactivated Bordetella pertussis organisms diluted in 5 ml of isotonic saline were administered intravenously. At the termination of the experiments animals were euthanized under pentobarbital anesthesia by intracardiac perfusion with 2.5% buffered glutaraldehyde solution. rMOG is a non-glycosylated recombinant fusion protein containing the extracellular domain (residues 1 to 124) of rat MOG (20). Although the sequence of marmoset MOG is not known, this domain of the protein is highly conserved between species (27), and rMOG is encephalitogenic in C. jacchus marmosets (9).
