STM revealed that monolayers prepared at a higher temperature (50 °C) and for a long time of adsorption (48 h) had domains with larger average dimensions. This observation is probably the result of saturation in coverage, the healing out of chain tilt mismatches, and the replacement of impurities in the film and of molecules weakly coordinated to the surface by molecules in solution.
