    • We checked our data for finite size effects by comparing them with calculations for (32 × 32) and (128 × 128) lattices and found that our results and in particular the formation of the magnetic pseudogaps are not affected by the finite lattice and that in agreement with the MerminWagner theorem for 2D there is no magnetic instability.

    • Note that we used a model dispersion which is different from the FS observed for the Bi2212 compounds. However, by performing a particle hole transformation and by exchanging momenta k and k + Q, the dip of our calculation agrees well with its position in the photoemission experiments. This suggests that our dispersion captures the important physical mechanism of the dip phenomenon, an improved agreement with the experiments requires an improvement of the description of the FS.
