Larraza, unpublished). However, it is not clear that shocks were present in the experiment of Foster and Putterman.

The theory by Rudenko and Chirkin also contemplates the possibility of a finite-amplitude signal in the shockless regime. In that case, their prediction is that the Gaussian attenuation is modulated by a Bessel function of zero order. Because we are interested in linear relaxations of a far off equilibrium state, we chose to investigate only the quasilinear approximation.
