11. The extinction of the 111 bands occurs also in the diffraction patterns of Mg KLL Auger line. By contrast, only diffuse Kikuchi-like features are formed in the Mg 1s pattern because of the low kinetic energy of photoelectrons. These results will be presented elsewhere, and we concentrate solely on the Mg 2s pattern in this article.
