    • This device has already been described; see: R. Carlier and J. Simonet, Bull. Soc. Chim. Fr., 1988, 831. The effect of the semi-infinite diffusion is strongly diminished inside the thin layer at the electrode surface and peak areas are directly proportional both to substrate concentration and electricity consumption involved in the process. So, the number of exchanged electrons can be determined directly from integration of the voltammetric peaks and comparison with a reference redox system (here, ferrocene/ ferrocenium).

    • J. Simonet and A. Ghanimi, unpublished results. At -40°C, the voltammetric response of 9 showed two reversible redox systems. In contrast, at room temperature two peaks, one cathodic and one anodic, largely separated in potential, were visible.
