16. Quantum electrodynamically static magnetic fields correspond to clouds of virtual photons. These virtual photons are made real by collisions with the high-energy electrons. The coherence arises because we cannot distinguish the space-time point where the virtual photons were made real. Consequently, we must first add the amplitudes, and then square the sum to obtain the intensity
