They show how sol-gel processing can be optimized in order to improve the quadratic response in hybrid materials. The highest non-resonant second order NLO response is reported in [59].

A complete study of different porphyrin-doped sol-gel matrices made for photochemical hole burning are reported in [67,68]. The first paper (part I [67]) concerns absorption and fluorescence data, high resolution spectroscopy and spectral hole burning with spatial insight on electron-phonon and spectral diffusion observed in these hybrid materials. The second paper [68] is devoted to the detailed vibrational analysis of fine resolved fluorescence and excitation spectra of guest porphyrins in the various sol-gel matrices studied.
