30. The crystalline product is rather insoluble, but we usually found that the crude product first dissolves and only starts to crystallize after a period of a few hours or days. If, for some reason, crystallization starts before extraction is complete, the best way to proceed is to extract the residue with a fairly large volume of hot toluene containing a few drops of THF.
