One potential complication is that the paper-wetting model is in the anisotropic universality class 111213, while the present experiments are in the isotropic universality class 14. We also considered the Leschhorn model discussed by Heiko Leschhorn, Physica A 195, 324 (1993), which is in the isotropic class. However, our simulations of that model did not show clear evidence of a power-law distribution of avalanches for any value of Δt.
