36. This assumption is probably valid even if the protein adsorption process caused dissociation of the heme from Mb. Since heme is nearly insoluble in pH 7 buffer, it would likely remain adsorbed at the solid-liquid interface even if it was not associated with the adsorbed protein in a "native" fashion.
