    • The reason for choosing a few values of L from all measured values is that the experimental curves show a tendency for (near) cessation of oxygen uptake. Hence, if all values were used, the data points for which L remains practically constant as a function of time would get too much weight in the fitting procedure. This is avoided by using a more or less constant value of ΔL.
