20. The PLE spectrum does depend on the metal type. Small Ag nanoclusters have major differences in their PLE compared to that of Au clusters. And we have found that nanoclusters of metals such as Pd, Pt, Fe, or Ni, which do not have a visible plasmon, do not exhibit observable visible PL even for the smallest sizes we have synthesized (∼1.5 nm).
