The association reactions studied in this work were determined to be in equilibrium when the ratio of the product ion signal to the reactant ion signal was found to be proportional to the neutral reactant concentration and independent of reaction distance. The measured values for the equilibrium constants were obtained from the slopes of plots of the product to reactant ion ratio versus the neutral reactant concentration.
