Spin fluctuations can provide at most 1/20 of the observed scattering rate, according to D M Edwards (work to be published), who has shown that the overestimated values for the resistivity in the double-exchange model in infinite dimensions, found in the literature, are erroneous because of the use of inaccurate densities of electron states.
