Generally speaking, quasiparticle transmission across an F-I-S interface may be strongly enhanced if the injection energy of the quasiparticles (E) exceeds the superconducting energy gap (Δ), regardless of the spin polarization. In contrast, the probability of Andreev reflection for (Formula presented) is suppressed at the F-I-S interface, as pointed out by Ref. 23 for d-wave superconductors, and by J. Aart, et al., Phys. Rev. B 56, 2779 (1997) for s-wave superconductors.
