    • Raman frequencies were corrected for the change of pressure in each heating and cooling cycle. We found that the pressure change from 300 to 425 K was typically small. When a limited number of measurements were made, the data were approximated by polynomials and extrapolated to higher temperature. Although his procedure could distort ν(T) dependencies at the highest temperatures, this does not affect the identification of discontinuous frequency changes or (dν/dT)p.

    • If melting occurs below 1000 K at 72 GPa (Fig.3), either there is no turnover or a higher order melting law is required to represent the data. The melting line maximum reported in Ref. [16] coincides with the P-T point in Ref. [8] but the latter corresponds to the predicted dissociation in the liquid.
